Chairman's message

Hervé Borgoltz

« Ladies and Gentlemen,

Responsible mobility is one of the many challenges with which our societies are faced. As global awareness spreads, the automobile industry is enjoying a new era of growth driven by the soar in demand for rechargeable electric and hybrid cars. This new market segment is in full boom and, this year already, will account for one million vehicles sold around the world.

By designing, manufacturing and commercializing standard and fast-charging stations for electric and hybrid cars, DBT is positioning itself on this high-potential market to take up a new challenge linked to electric mobility: infrastructures. Because, although there are thousands of service stations catering to traditional vehicles, charging points in Europe and beyond are too few and far between to meet this new demand.

Today, more than one in two fast-charging stations you come across on the road are designed by our teams. Drawing on our longstanding and proven expertise in electrical measurement, we took part in the very first pilot programmes alongside PSA, EDF and the cities of Paris and La Rochelle from as early as 1992. 20 years later, our company had a park of close to 17,000 charging points in Europe, and had signed a benchmark industrial and commercial partnership with the world's leading make of electric cars: NISSAN. Over time, this partnership enabled us to enrich our expertise and develop the first generation of universal fast-charging stations that are capable of recharging virtually all types of electric and hybrid cars.

Backed by unrivaled experience within the sector, we fully intend to cement our leadership in what is set to be a high-growth market. Thanks to our initial public offering, we will have all of the resources we need to accelerate our commercial development and continue to enrich our offer. Our aim? To increase our current park of 1,697 fast-charging stations in some thirty countries to 10,000 by 2020.

The DBT team and I are more ready than ever to take up this formidable challenge that will help democratize the electric car. ».
